This is the good 'ol home on the web of TrashTalk. We're a small group of people who enjoy making games and do so through our school on Gotland in Sweden. If you have heard of us, it's probably because you've been to Gamescom or Gamex where we recently exhibited out arcade game Gods of Steel!

Right now we're working on our next project, a co-op fantasy hack 'n slash for PC, with a twist... Hope to see you at GGA this year!

First day at GGC

Today was the first day of GGC where people could come and play a demo version of Overkill. Things went by pretty smooth even if we had to cut a lot of features from the demo the other night.

One more day to go, see you there and don't forget to check our DevBlog for more updates :)

Tiny layout updates

Made a small change to the site layout: added our devblog to the links in the header since it'll probably take a while to establish a gallery now that we're in the midst of production. For all our smaller updates and wips of our latest game, please make sure to check the devblog out! It's where all our members can post as much as they want and whenever they want.

Other than that, only 42 days left until GGC where we'll show Overkill for the first time. Be there! :)

Finally: Starting for real!

I am pleased to announce that TrashTalk had a very long and productive meeting yesterday. It has been a while since you heard from us due to heavy amounts of schoolwork, but most of that has passed and it's time to start working on Overkill for real.

Of course we haven't been completely idle with TrashTalk stuff during this time - in fact, We have recruited another graphic artist to help us with the load of 3D modeling that has to be done! Her name is Lina and you can look forward to reading her presentation a little later when her profile picture has been completed ;3

So what happens now? Tomorrow or Tuesday the programmers will discuss the workload and who will be responsible for what as well as how to approach certain parts of the game. The graphic artists already met yesterday and got familiar with their tasks and what order to do things to make the iteration process as smooth as it can be.

In a week we'll meet up again and discuss the fighting system! Stay tuned.

Gotland Game Jam!

This weekend ThrashTalk took part in the Gotland Game Jam, a competition where you have to create a game within two days. We entered with four people and were on Friday given a set of rules and constraints including a colour palette of eight colours, no visual user interface (but rather having it conveyed through sound) and having a central part of the game be about the player figuring out how the the game is lying about its rules.

We had from Friday evening to Sunday morning to make the game. It was a very fun and hectic event that forced us to tackle obstacles in a different way due to the very short time limit.

In the end, our game "Hyper & Death Robot: Escape from Megastorm Asylum" ended up in a shared first place. Pretty awesome huh? :3

Aftermath

OK! Everyone is back from Gamex and it was a blast. Thanks to everyone who came to play our game, we hope you enjoyed the expo as much as we did! :3

There's never a break for game developers though, and we're heading straight into work with Overkill! Coming along just fine so far, the artists are spamming out concepts while the programmers make early prototypes. Don't forget to check back soon for more updates on that matter..!

And on another note: We have added portraits to the info page, so now you can all get an idea of what these crazy people look like. Don't forget to check out our awesome, overkill-style group portrait as well!

Gamex!!

Tomorrow (well, today really) is the start of Sweden's first real game expo, Gamex. I bet you can't guess who'll be showing off their game there, now can you? Oh really? Us? Darn you got me.

So! We'll be available at Gamex from tomorrow until the last day, every single minute of the expo. You'll find us and our epic arcade game Gods of Steel right in the middle of Bandai Namco, Nintendo and Activision. Can't miss us.
